The Colonial Midrib Spoon is cast in an antique bronze mold which dates around 1750s. Some folks refer to this type, simply, as the rattail spoon. The spline on the top of the handle is the midrib. Another great soup spoon.

The Colonial Midrib Spoon can also be purchased unfinished, right out of the mold. 18th century reenactors like to purchase these spoons and hand finish themselves. Others like to buy them as it is a wonderful craft project. All spoons are lead free and table safe which makes the project extra special. Basic finishing instructions included.
